One of those days ...

Had a very detailed dream about my Turkish towel ... Woke up - realized I had left it at the swimming lesson ...

Rushed to get myself and kids out of house - knocked over empty glass pasta bottle - glass everywhere

Stopped at hotel to look for towel - not there :(

Missed bus to art class - waited 1 hour and then it was too late to go

Azi didn't sleep - so had my homeopathic feedback consult while playing with her!

Found out consultation was e175 and not e100! Hoping these little white tablets give me loads of energy!

Took Zaz to Rebbetzin for Hebrew class - her boys were so badly behaved in my English class - even though she says they look forward to it every week

Walked home

Zaz got a horrible headache before bed

Washing machine got an error and then I had to repeat the wash - and I put it on the super long cycle (as Phil was talking to me)

In bath now - going to bed!

And the good moments:

Zaz somehow convincing Azi to wear another dress

Azi - after refusing to wear shoes and socks all winter - now wants to wear her Sandels with socks

Zaz refusing to go to the beach - and then playing so nicely with the rocks and building a sculpture ...

Azi playing and exploring in the shallow water

Zaz singing in the shower

Yummy (not healthy) Lebanese wrap for lunch

Phil surprising me with a cot d or elephant

Bath and Ted talk

The things I will do for food!

So all over Malta (every second shop) sells these patizzes - there are the regular pie style dough ones, and then the crunchy puff pastry type ones (which my super healthy Maltese friend told me the other day are 500 calories for a little patizze) .. Hence the size of the average Maltese!

So my friend told me that you have to have a patizze from Chrystal palace in Rabat! It is one of the oldest and most traditional places!

So we were sort of in that area for an Easter carnival, and I promised Zaz we could go to Chrystal Palace.

So after asking a few people and following the bus driver on his quick smoke break - we arrived to find a door, old mean sitting outside smoking cigars, cigarettes, lots of tattoos!

We parked our pram and went inside to the tiny shop!

1 man behind the counter pouring tea into little glasses (reminded me of India) from a big tin tea pot, this big oven with the fire burning, and old men sitting around drinking tea and smoking!

We quickly ordered our patizze (thank goodness there is not much variety, it's either cheese or peas) and ran out of the shop.

Went and sat on the park bench and ate our very flakey and oily patizze! A perfect combo!

Zazas comments made the experience worthwhile ...

'I literally had to hold my breath and had no option but to walk straight through the cigarette smoke'

'There were so many of those people - what do you and Cassi call granny's friends? Oh yes, AK's'

'You can literally taste the calories'

Azi just ate her patizze!

Ps: I told Phil's Maltese work mate that I went to Chrystal palace - he doesn't believe that is the best patizze place - so we have to try his place next!

Watch out Sydney - Gia with crazy hair will be rolling in!

Monday Easter carnival fun

Besides for the long ques, bad food, very very loud microphones and music ...

It was fun riding on these things, watching the shows, eating chips and going on the jumping castles

What a mitzvah girl!

We went to this Easter egg event thing .. And there was a big Easter egg hunt, and most kids found loads of Easter eggs ...

Zaz came running up to me with a few eggs and was so happy she found them ...

She then rushed to find more

She then saw me give some of her eggs to other kids that did not find any!

She came back and was upset that I had given them away ... I explained that I had kept 2 for her and 2 for Azi (which Azi was already eating) ..,

She took her 2 eggs away and was quite upset

Next thing - I see her bending down and giving both her eggs to a kid with an empty egg basket!

Only in Malta ...

Is there a massive kids event ... At a venue with a huge uncovered swimming pool!

And you know what? Not 1 kid has gone near the pool!

Strange!

A spontaneous beach day and pizza!

Oh yes - and being included in our friends Austrian Easter tradition!

Ps: when I take a picture of Azi with food, she smiles and says the name of the food

Easter Sunday

A very sweet forest walk, games for zaria by the scouts - and fun hanging in nature!!

It's become a bit of a tradition

Easter Friday!

Began with homemade spelt calzones (Phil's idea) and an attempt at spelt wraps! (Really missing the preservative be free wraps from Sydney)

Then off to an Easter fair at a castle! Really!!!

Which besides the bit of rain and slightly disorganized - was really fun!

Especially the sand art and the sweets from the sweet can (Phil's idea)

And that whole thing about a sugar high - Azi are all her sweets and fell asleep!

Easter carnival - enjoying the ride!

And now I taught Zaz!

Who needs a fancy spiralizer?!

When you can have a e3 peeler?

Dani and nics

My cat loving friends - this is just for you!

Maltas very own 'cat park' with a giant cat statue!

Who knows why?!

Yummy lunch

After all the playing in the park - in the wind - and art class - and a sleep! A yummy Lebanese lunch was needed!

At first Azi said, 'that's NOT a wrap' (in her disapproving voice) ... 1 minute later 'oooookkk I'll try it' ... Are half of it - put it on the table and said, 'yuk yuk yuk' .. (Conversation about how we don't say food is yuk) ... 1 minute later - picks it up and finishes it!

Zaria - ate it all up! No comments!

Awesome moon!

Happy Purim!

Zaz doing her singing audition

With this 'superstar' look a like - who is a superstar in Malta!

At these cheesy cheesy studios with trophies everywhere!

Hebrew school is lots of fun
