Mom says, 'Here are two pics of ZaZ before 'the accident' ... an
accident that I will never forget ... I took ZaZ to the book lounge for
Kiddies story-telling on a Saturday morning ... When we left at about
11:45am, ZaZ wanted to walk up the two flights of stairs holding the
railing (like they do at school) ... BUT these steps are planks with
gaps in-between ... So I was right behind her making sure she did not
fall through the planks ... When we got to the top of the second
flight... she leaned over to she me a poster of kids reading books on
the beach ... and then it happened - she feel through the banister and
went tumbling down the first flight of steps, somersault style, plank by
plank ... Two weeks later I can still see her BIG brown eyes staring up
at me as she tumbled down and down ... It was like a slow motion movie
... and yet it happened so quickly. TG one of my friends brother-in-laws
- The Hero - ran and got her just before she landed on the concrete
step. I think I did not even scream - I was in total shock ... I ran
down and took ZaZ from the Hero ... She cried for 1 minute and asked for
her dummy.. The ladies at the book lounge bought water and rescue
tablets - I downed 8. Then all was calm, we got up to leave and walked
out. On the road, ZaZa's eyes slowly started to close ... and that it
when my heart began to beat ... I pulled out the Dummy and ran to my car
... I chatted and chatted to her ... Phoned Phil, burst out crying (kept
thinking about the Desperate Housewives episode I had watched the night
before with the one lady having a retarded kid) ... I drove through a
red red robot ... to the hospital and into emergency room and burst out
crying again ... TG one of the Clamber Club Moms came out she was the
Doctor on duty ... she checked ZaZ and NOTHING (Here I was imagining CAT
scans etc etc) .... But NO - within 5 minutes ZaZ was chatting and
happy. Phil arrived in a complete sweat ... he must have flown there in
his car not driven. On Saturday ... I must have told Phil the story 8
times - I think I had PTSD ... I could not believe that she was fine ...
I kept imagining that something was going to happen ... BUT I thank
Hashem every second that she is absolutely Perfecto! These kids are
super resilient ...
It is funny - cause ZaZ is still telling the story, 'When I fell at the
bookshop and the man picked me up and we went to the doctor' ...
PG this is the first and last fall ... Two weeks later and as I write
this, I am still in shock but completely thankful that all is fine!'
