Friday in Malta!

For some strange and weird reason, Azi woke up @ 2am (just as I had finished watching the last episode of homeland season 5! Omg! Addictive) ... She cried until 3am - I could not console her!

At 3am I had to wake Phil (as she only wanted daddy) - he managed to get her back to sleep at 6am, woke me, made kids French toast and went to work!

At 8am I had to transfer a sleeping Azi in the pram and we took the bus to school (4 min bus ride, as opposed to 30 mins brisk walk - Zaz was super happy)

I think found a new promenade to walk on (see pic below) - but Azi did not remain sleeping!

We went for coffee with a whole group of moms from the school! It blows me away where people have come from and what they have done. One mom, grew up in Ghana, has loved in Austria, America, Panama and now Malta! Incredible!

Azi got a toasted cheese sandwich, her face lit up! She took one bite and said, 'mom you MUST taste this'! Cutie!!!

Az and I then went to a new park, which will become our park! Great equipment, right on the water!

Az was trying to tell me to do what the teacher did in yoga class by lifting her up on her feet! When I said I don't know which teacher, she had s bit of a think and then said, 'oh yes, it was the teacher that I saw with granny!!!' .. She also told me earlier in the day, very crossly! 'This is not how granny makes her muesli and youghurt! '

We then went for a yummy lunch at a 'healthy' place! Big piece of Mousakke (which I'm now determined to learn how to make) and this yummy chickpea patty!!! (Azi hardly ate)

We then took a loooong hour walk on promenade and up to Zaz school - hoping Azi would sleep! But she didn't!

Fetched Zaz, got bus back, chilled at home, got dressed, got taxi to rabbis house for the Shul service at their house @ 5:30!

They have just moved to this old house (terrace style) in sliema. You walk through this little door and there are this high high ceilings and beautiful tiled and decorative floors! Not fancy but old and with soul!

Her 4 kids speak no English! Only Hebrew! Mushka (the Rebbetzin) is awesome! Very knowledgable, speaks English, very friendly and relaxed! The rabbi is a skinny, blond, reserved man who speaks a bit of English!

After a quick Shul service with the rabbi, Phil, an isreali dad and the 3 sons - we said prayers and out came bowls of her most delicious salads, celeriac salad, incredible eggplant salad, and about 3 others. Then a big fish of baked salmon in a delicious spicy sauce! I thought that was the meal!

Then chicken soup, then chicken and 2 different vegetable lochshon style dishes! And then amazing home baked chocolate cookies and this yummy coconut and jam biscuits!!!!

Azi had about 3 spikes of energy, running all around and then she eventually crashed on Phil's shoulder!

I had a great chat to the Rebbetzin and the isreali mom!

At 9:30 we left, and Zaz got the REAL Gelato to help her walk home

We all crashed!!!

Ps: the pic of the water is just one of the loads of natural tidal pools along the promenade - will be interesting to experience this island in summer!
