paragraphs has SOARED ... Just when I think, ok - language development
good ... off ZaZ goes and surprises me. For starters - I can have a
full-on half an hour conversation with ZaZ, no problem - with her
talking for most of that time. Secondly, she is constantly coming out
with new words and expressions and says thing completely appropriately
at the right time ...
I do mean to write it down all the time ... but alas, life takes
over ... But reflecting now, these are the things I remember ...
- This whole Pesach story and the plagues has completely FREAKED her
out ... there were all props on the first night seder table (including
fake blood) ... ZaZ just went to sleep - no crying or anything - but
just couldnt deal with it (and was exhausted by 10pm) ... so when she
woke-up the next morning, the first thing she said is, 'I don't like
the blood @ Bobis house' ... Later when we said we are going there for
supper, she said, 'please tell bobi to take the blood away' .. She
also LOVED the questions at the table, and asks everytime we are there
for supper, 'when are the questions going to start' ... someone
mentioned in the Seder that Hashem keeps his promises, so now I get
asked every day, 'What does it mean Hashem keeps his promises' ... (In
addition, I am constantly asked - 'Does this have blood on it' ...
'why did Hashem do those bad things' ...)
- The other day I had to take ZaZ with me to my gym teacher who does
the training from her house. ZaZ first started playing out with her
daughter, then came to watch me ... after a while she says, 'Mandy,
your house is very stylish' ... Mandy (and I) could not believe our
ears ... So Mandy said, 'What' .. To ehich ZaZ replied, 'Stylish - you
know - nice' ...
- Tonight we were leaving the Clamber Club house and I said to Lauren
ZaZ is loving doing puzzles, so she said to Laurens husband, 'I am a
specialist in princess puzzles'
- In the car today, BJ was saying that he can eat popcorn on Pesach
(when I told ZaZ previously that you can't have popcorn on Pesach) ...
ZaZ pops up (excuse the pun) from the back (please note - that ZaZ is
never really part of these conversations but she is constantly taking
it all in and feels free to join in) ... this time she says, 'BEEEJJJ
are you SERIOUS! Can we eat popcorn on Pesach?' ... Mom says: Can I
just add once I had said to ZaZ popcorn is not for Pesach - she did
not ask for it or even ask for a piece while BJ was eating it - quite
amazing (and she was hungry) ... I wish I had that level of willpower
AND I hope it lasts.
- The, 'Tell me which parts of Peter Rabbit were scary and which parts
you liked?' ... is STILL continuing (much to my boredom) ... Today I
told ZaZ it has gone out of my brain, I have forgotten ... She took it
out of her brain and threw it to me, when I said it had flown out of
the window, she replied, 'Close the windows.'
Yestrday ...
ZaZ: Mom look what I found looking at me from the cupboard (ZaZ
holding a box of Lindt Chocolate and takes out 3 squares left in tin
foil)
Mom: Ok ZaZ, you can have a piece, me a piece and put a piece back
ZaZ: (gives me a piece, gobbles her piece and then I hear a lot of
commotion)
ZaZ: Mom I can't put the piece back there is no tinfoil or box for
it ... it is in the dustbin ...
Mom: ok, you have half and I have half
ZaZ: (Gobbles hers) ... Mom I am just looking @ yours ...
1 second later
stuffing mine in her mouth
with a MASSIVE chocolate grin and mouthful of chocolate ... SMILING
and laughing: I am the Chocolate Monster
Tidy fairies and Messy Monsters are a big topic of conversation in our
house ...
In the car...
ZaZ: Dad who is Auntie Rochelles Mom
Phil: Bobba Celie, because Auntie Rochelle is my sister
ZaZ: Are you older or Auntie Rochelle?
Phil: Auntie Rochelle
ZaZ: ohhh ... so you are not twins!
- ZaZ (often): Can we go live in Australia?
Mom: Why?
ZaZ: So I can play games with Auntie Cas every day all day.
Some common phrases:
' Are you serious?'
'I am ONLY joking'
'This is going to be a MARVELOUS show'
From the bath: 'Mom, Dad who ever is not busy please can you come to
the bathroom'
ZaZ is still loving doing her shows, especially her version of puppet
shows, to which she starts with, 'This is not a scary puppet show, but
please do not come up and touch the puppets ..' (This is how the
puppet show at the aquaruim starts ... and then she does the whole
show like Aquarium with the chases and the shouting ...
Mom says:
I think the thing that amazes me most about ZaZ is what a HAPPY child
she is, from when she wakes up in the morning till when she goes to
sleep ... HAPPY ... (Of course, there are the moans and temper
tantrums here and there) ... But she hardly cries, even when she falls
etc, it;s a moment and then all fine ... she loves meeting and playing
with other kids (especially girls) - just today she ran off @ Newport
with a kid and sat and played with her and then again @ Woolies... TOO
Cute ... even when she is overtired - HAPPY (actually extremely happy
and manic and in her own fairy world when overtired) ... She
understands what No means (of course she will try her luck) but knows
when no is no ... I often think, this child has an incredible nature!
Oh ... and SO expressive ... facial expressions, gestures ... SO funny!
Also - loving singing and dancing to herself, in the car, at home, in
shops ... singing her own made-up songs and dancing (usually songs
about being best friends)
Her favourite game with friends is still mommy, baby ... To which she
elects who will be the mommy or baby and is quiet happy to swop (not
so happy when other kid won't play)
ZaZ i LOVE you to the mooon, three times around and back ...
