Zazi isn’t just a character in person, but she keeps me entertained on skype for anywhere between 20-40mins until one of us has to go.
It amazes me that she understands the concept that Sydney and South Africa are on different time zones (she knows when it’s night here, it’s morning there)...but lately it’s been light when we speak earlier in the night (cos the sun only sets before 8pm these days).
So she says “But Auntie Cass, why is it still day time there!?”.
Today we were pretending to be Buzz light year (from toy story)..usually once we’ve got the chit chat out of the way, she says “ok let’s play buzz”.
So today we were thinking of different ways we could rescue the men stuck on the moon and sun (don’t know where she gets this from).
She came up with some very creative things...like rapunzel style “They can hold onto my hair and I can pull”, which we tried (she does the whole acting out of it too), but the person was apparently “too heavy”.
She also suggested we take our eye out (I don’t know how that helps), so when I said omg but how will we see, she cleverly said (implying that I had no idea of the game) “It’s just pretend!”.
But after lots of discussion of strategies (many of which didn’t suit her for one reason or another), she kept saying (with her hands out ) “I don’t have any more plans!!”.
She’s also very good at delivering messages like “Auntie Cass, mom says she’s going to shower, but don’t worry we can still talk” (with a big smile).
I LOVE that she’s so keen to chat and play EVEN across the world...wow the marvels of the internet :D
