It's a Maltese thing

For the whole summer, every town (aka suburb) in malta has a weekend / week that they celebrate the church and saints in their town!

This consists of lighting up the church, band processions, lots of awful food trucks and then the 'fireworks' mostly a Big Bang sound and smoke and no fireworks goes off all night (to ward off the evil spirits) ... very strange! And oddly competitive! Between the towns and between the bands in the towns! ... for a country that only has 1/2 a million people! Odd!!!

This was the feast in the 'town' next to us! (Aka 10 mins walk from our place)!

Ps: imagine what the health and safety authorities in Sydney would say about the lamb IN the street for all to touch.

A quick trip to Gozo! (After a Hilton pool swim)!

Saturday morning!

Zaz created a hotel bread in bed for her and az!

Day 38

Day 37 (I think)

Fun play date with my friend from ballet (while Zaz and her sore stomach were at ballet) - followed by, a 'I have never seen so many toys', 'it's so hot' , afternoon sleep!

Day 36'

Phil and Zaz tried our their new cheapo heart rate monitors! Check out Zaria's red cheeks!

Followed by a swim!!! (Which Azi reluctantly went in for 2 seconds, so she could get tv time! Followed by, 'I told you, I will NEVER go back in that sea again!!!!! '

Day 36

Started with a great swim in the sea! Ended with Azi being stung by something on her leg and crying - a lot!!! Thankfully a kinder surprise helped!

Then pool from 4-8:30pm! Ended with sushi!

Day 35

Kids took photos of each other!

(The day zaria had to walk 1km in the 2pm hear because the buses had to stop because of a small accident)!

A little update on az

Shame, I used to write these updates all the time about Zaz! But az ... will, life got busy - and I dont have cassi making notes of all the funnies!

One thing is for sure! Azi is switched on!!! We often think she has escaped into iPad land or tv land ... but then all of a sudden (like yesterday at stagecoach Infront of a few kids) - she sings Zaza's while shrek song and whole Harry Potter song! (Well, not with the confidence of Zaz ... she gets kind of shy and giggly! But knows all the words! )

She is opinionated! She will clearly state to everyone and anyone what she likes or does not like! She will chat to most people, and will comment on every situation (litter on the ground etc)

She likes PLAIN food and everything separated! And does not need to eat much! (But loves her sweet things)

She ADORES zaria and will do anything for zaz and with zaz! But at the same time, she will question zaria and not let zaz step over her!!!

Her up-down temperamental personality is still there, but not such big dips!!!

She remembers EVERYTHING! Today zaria told her that she fell down the steps and hurt her chin! Azi said nonsense! She fell off her bed and hurt her chin!

She is very athletic! And loves to run, swim, jump, be tossed upside down!

When she is tired! She will sleep! No complaints!

She loves being part of the action

She does not like being the Centre of attention

She does not like people invading her space!!

She listens super well! And follows through!
